Following the extraordinary success of their 20th anniversary tour in 2009,
Bangarra Dance Theatre leaps into the next 20 years with a stunning new
double-bill.
Always innovative and exciting, Bangarra presents two stories hailing from the
Wiradjuri Aboriginal people, who originally lived in the Bathurst region of New
South Wales.
Rejoining the company is highly regarded choreographer Frances Rings, who first
made the move from dancer to creator with the company's
Walkabout in 2002 and more recently conceived half of the double bills
True Stories (X300) and Clan (Unaipon). This year, Bangarra
is excited to introduce the new choreographic talents of
Canberra's own Daniel Riley McKinley, making his debut with
this work.
Building on Bangarra's long established reputation for
producing excellent and moving work, both of these Indigenous artists will
explore the traditions and song lines of their heritage in a work that is sure
to inspire and enthrall.
