Experience John Bell
in the
legendary role

It's birthdays all round as Bell Shakespeare turns 20 and John Bell turns
70. However, it's the audience that gets the present, with the great actor
taking on the role of King Lear.
When the ageing King prepares to divide his kingdom, he asks his three
daughters how much they love him. Two tell him what he wants to hear and the
third is disinherited and banished to France. From there it's just a short trip
to total chaos.
In an unprecedented union of Bell Shakespeare's artistic leaders, Marion Potts
directs John Bell as Lear in a poetic and powerful production of one of the
greatest works in western literature.
King Lear is the cornerstone of Bell Shakespeare's 20th year
celebrations and promises to be one of the great theatre events of 2010.
