Josh Pyke: 10 Years of Memories and Dust with special guests
Sunday 12 November 2017
One of Australia’s favourite storytellers, Josh Pyke has announced a regional tour of Australia – alongside the news that he’ll be hanging up his Josh Pyke boots and going on hiatus.
To celebrate his illustrious career and to say ‘goodbye for now’, he will be stopping by Canberra Theatre Centre on Sunday 12 November, playing two solo sets at The Playhouse. First up will be Memories & Dust from start to finish, followed by a set of favourites.
Josh’s breakthrough single was Middle of the Hill, which made triple j’s 2005 Hottest 100 countdown and appeared on his debut release, Feeding The Wolves. Josh followed up Feeding The Wolves with the 2007 release of his debut album Memories & Dust. Josh released his fifth album But For All These Shrinking Hearts in 2015 – the release debuted at number two on the ARIA chart, making it his fifth Top-10 release in a row. Throughout his career Josh has received four ARIA Awards, with a further nine nominations, and has had nine songs appear in triple j’s Hottest 100 countdowns.
Josh Pyke has become one of Australia’s most recognisable singer songwriters, crafting music with uniquely Australian influences and experiences. He is a staunch advocate for the arts; with his work as an ambassador for APRA/AMCOS, the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, as well as his own project for young musicians, The Josh Pyke Partnership.
