National Opera presents La Rondine

Love. Passion. Decision. Giacomo Puccini’s La Rondine is a love story involving Magda, a high society woman kept in a grand style by an older man. She meets a young and unsophisticated man at a soirée and they fall deeply in love. Magda is forced to decide between love or a life of luxury. Taking a timeless, modern approach, director Gale Edwards’ vision is for the audience to journey with Magda, the strong female protagonist, as she goes on a journey of discovery and makes difficult life-changing decisions. The production will present as a lesson in stylistic beauty and elegance of what opera can be in the 21st century.
