We’ve been waiting with bated breath for over ten years to announce the return of musical champs and Grammy Award-winning outfit Wilco to the theatres, concert halls and opera houses of Australia. From their humble mid-‘90s alt-country origins, Wilco has manifestly become better with age. Founding member and ringleader Jeff Tweedy and Uncle Tupelo bandmate John Stirratt are joined by Nels Cline, Pat Sansone, Glenn Kotche and Mikael Jorgensen, who together as Wilco have gone from strength to strength paving their own unique path to sonic greatness. A musical chameleon, Wilco has been inspired by the greats from music to 20th-century literature and their songs have touches of alt-country, folk, rock and eclectic indie-sounds making their music deeply pleasurable and widely loved. The band won a Grammy Award in 2005 for Best Alternative Music Album – A Ghost Is Born – and have been nominated seven times over the years across various genres including Best Folk, Best Rock, Best Americana. They’re just the best. This coming March, please experience Wilco. One of the planet’s most powerful and intuitive rock’n’roll bands as they perform along the East Coast delivering audiences an unforgettable show filled with old tunes, classic hits and probably some new music from their latest album Cousin. It just couldn’t get more exciting!
